Picked this up last week, sold as spare or repair as it started to knock on its second run and this was after a complete rebuild.
Its a 59 motor with a 60 engine, as it came with two almost complete motors in parts, it wasn't that hard to rebuild the 59 motor and put it back in as it should be.
The loose big end bolts were the culprit, finger tight, very loose, so that killed off the crank.
With all the parts I have put it all back together, with a little paint.

Re: Yet Another Evinrude
Beautiful, a great score. They seem to run quite well when tuned in right, we had a go at trying to start one at our WA outboard meet and were completely surprised that it had such good electrics as usually they are U/S by now.
Good luck with it!

Well done Keith. It looks to be in great original condition.

It has had a full top to bottom repaint, not by me and even though its not supposed to have the crank mounted fuel pump, not shown in the picture, I fitted one just to make life easier and left the twin fuel line pump intact, if ever I got the right tank, plus the props wrong.
Its good but not perfect.

Great looking engine. They are a good performer, and generally reliable. I have similar models, and love them.
