If that's it, then its a substantial sum for for a circular wire brushed not altogether original, no patina of age motor from a dealer.

Maybe that's not it because they are not inviting aggressive bids.

Is that an authentic transom clamp? I don't think the tank/ cap is right. But then I don't know sod all.

I'm sure that's the one!

Timberman is becoming rather sharp-eyed at spotting these early motors.

This one looks entirely honest, and apart from the transom bracket and the tank it appears to be all there.

You can forgive the transom brackets a bit, after all the majority weren't delivered with a bracket at all, rather they arrived at the military stores with that strange universal side mount thingy.

The tank, well, not sure. Perfectly reasonable tank, and looks to be in good condition. An SD would, of course, have had a steel one originally, certainly the earlier numbers. I have no idea when they changed to brass.

If you get it please let me have its numbers!

Any pictures available of the above mounting? I've yet to see one.

Thanks Hugo.

I'd love to see this mounting as well ....

as it happens I have a << gosh shock horror>> spare steel tank :D :D

even so ..the bracket that accompanies this engine is'nt SO far removed for the period

'course tempting fate here, as I've not actually won it yet ..so could all turn to turnips

Timberman

One more bidder out of the contest.
I'm only a few miles away from this one, but
1. aint got no more room to store any more
2. going on holiday, so won't be around when auction ends

So good luck, and hope you win it :!: :!:

well chaps, ...for those vaguely interested ..

I won the SD but was pushed to the wire

so there's another saved the ignominious fate of being broken up as bits for sale

Pop it in the nest to get fettled and finished over winter, and have it burbling up and down the Thames when the weather picks up

have to come up with a cunning plan for H.I.D. as to how another 'Gull' has appeared .....My last claim that it just followed me home was greeted with more than a little incredulity

she's getting a bit cunning now .... thought I'd got it cracked by having them all in bits and under declaring the no of 'Gulls' in the nest ...
I found out the other day how she got the resident population bob-on ....she goes out and counts the tanks ...I mean devious or what !!!
