Re: Proposed Guide Topics...
How about a focus on the main things that cause seagulls to be discarded, put at the back of the garage and left to rot? I'm thinking, carbs/tanks full of gunk, points cleaning and setting, water jacket corrosion. Sort of "How to get that ebay bargain going again"
Re: Proposed Guide Topics...
Good idea Oyster... should it probably follow on from the Before you start your Seagull for the first time... post?... 'I've done that and there's no sign of life yet...'

Re: Proposed Guide Topics...
There should most definitely be a short article about what to do if you come across an early Seagull - say, pre 1942.
There are pitfalls for the unwary, and many of the parts are simply unobtainable. A good example is gearbox front caps in the OAs - the thread is left handed and may be impossible to remove without incurring irreparable damage.
I'll chat to the other Charles about this; I feel it's important that we don't accidentally destroy something historic!
