12' Flat Skiff
After about 3 months of preparation, I finally managed to dry fit my boat together today. Hooray, it is no longer a stack of ply in the corner.
I still have some trimming of pieces to make them all fit properly, but it is all go from here.
It is stitch and glue construction, I have used copper wire to stitch it together because that was all that was on hand. I rejected the cable tie method because of the size of the holes required. Then epoxy and glass.
This boat will be entered in the Australian Wooden Boat Festival next year, it will have my WC series 102 on the back.

Re: 12' Flat Skiff
My future dream! I don't want to put any of my Seagull outboards to my inflatable, I want something wooden and heavy!
I love the 10600/145 turns!!!
Re: 12' Flat Skiff
Just received a picture of me making smoke at the AWBF
I had a tiller extension, but didn't use it until I was outside the dock.

Very smartly appointed craft sir!
I love the oar stowing arrangment and the flotation volume. My next project is a car toppable seagull mounting platform yours is inspiring.

Spotted at WBF. Looking good! Best way to see those magnificent boats, avoided crowds!

DId you 'free hand' that design or were you working from a drawing/dedsign. I am currently looking for a cartopable little 12-14 foot skiff to build leaning toward a Bolger Cartopper

Re: 12' Flat Skiff
Try a Flint, good little boat for a seagull and very easy to row

I worked from plans, here is the link to them, 12Ft Flat Skiffdavid doyle wrote:DId you 'free hand' that design or were you working from a drawing/dedsign
Bateau.com has an active forum with assistance available always, just like here.
It is a very flexible design, easily modified to suit the individual builder.
