Split pins
Right china's as you all may be aware I'm not the brightest spanner in the tool box so how on earth do you size a split pin for ordering new ones. Cheers

Easy answer, You buy a box set, so you never have to ask silly questions.
I know being a Scotsman you only need ONE, but in the long run it works out cheaper, Honest.
The technical answer is, the split pin should be smaller then the hole its going into, charts are available on the Net, for pin diameters.

Tam, I am also interested in where one can get brass split pins in small quantities.
Years ago a bought a tin of varying size steel split pins - the best way to do it. I agree Keith.
On the early FVs, brass split pins are used to locate the stub tiller and the hook on the engine support lug. These are relatively large dia at c0.16 and 0.25.
