Pair of 102s

Picked up a 1948 102 today, AC4395, aswell as crankcase/block assembly of a 1946 102, HC60710L. The AC4395 is in fairly good condition, but when flywheel is turned it snags and doesn’t turn about 50 degrees btdc. Pulled the block off the crankcase, see below.

Piston rings were good, and the piston was still getting stuck when being turned over in the crankcase. Pulled bottom half of the crankcase and can’t see any reason it’ll still be sticking. Must be something in the ignition. I reckon the coil has slipped and one of the magnets is rubbing against the flywheel. Has this happened to anyone else? Other issue is that the HC crankcase tiller arm mount has snapped off, not ideal. First time working on a 102, I’ll post updates here when it’s cleaned up abit.

I doubt that cylinder will be of any use, look closely at the cleaned up area, that is a crack.
Blue Hermatite and polished crack area shows he has been in there.
Lucky you did not pay much for it.

Your right Charles, only just noticed. There is a large scratch across the case that covers the letter T making it considerably later.
