In 2017 an SD surfaced in its original wrapping within the crate including the side mount. I have reliable information that is about to come back onto ebay. Be nice if it went to a member of the SOS family. Quite frankly it should be in a museum. Can you keep an eye on GB ebay please as l'm in Sydney Australia. Thank you.

I remember that one Hugo...seemed to be some derision and the listing vanished?

May be wrong as it was some time ago now...we shall see if available again.

The main hurdle is a seller shipping it...not the final price.

Interesting all the same aye?

Now that is interesting, but it does pose a few questions.

Has anyone ever seen a green painted fuel tank with a Seagull logo underneath the paint?
Must have been green as tank "straps" green.

Air intake later fitting?

Anyone in their 80's or 90's remember their father having "insulating tape" holding waxed paper like that?

What say you Hugo ? a man who seriously studied these.

Hugo you said in May "should be in a museum" do you know of one?

I've heard of a private one in New Zealand,

Nothing in the UK, not even a site for collectors that isn't on facebook & as we all know "grandads don't do facebook"

The fear is that a museum would just store it. And who would finance it? It is a later one so I'm not surprised re shroud air intake. I would think many of the trumpets got squashed so a more hardy one was developed. Tanks and decals are always a mystery.

A thought. The rest of motor is wrapped or greased yet the tank is not. Was the tank removed, painted and decalled to be sold as ex war stock? It has been discussed that it was unlikely that in the austerity of the war years they would put decals on them yet were any other seagulls have directions of one pint of oil to the gallon? Good idea to have that on the tank for the sappers. Some distant memory that the motors that had white numbers on the exhaust were painted army green. Be interesting if magneto is green. Somebody run a book!

My question is regarding the dates (Box End)?

1964 and check 1969?

Interesting aye.
