Alas I haven’t had a boat to use these on for a few years so they may as well be off to a better home.

3 seagulls in various stages of disrepair

I have not used any of these since 2008 (I think) all are complete and have all mounting brackets & controls etc.

1968 century.
Started and ran fine ...

Not a seagull but I thought this may interest some of you on here. i hope this does not contravene any forum rules.

i imagine your correct engine number is CPC248 B 1 rather than CPC24881, making it a 1961 century plus with clutch. mix ups in the stamping of the engine numbers appear to have been common at the time. it should be roughly equivelent to a 4.5hp

there is no kill switch, but a hand over the air ...

If you have already tried brute force, blood, tears, WD40 and a lot of heat without success. This is my suggestion of a last resort

I needed to remove a seized bolt holding the gearbox and impellor housing together.

Using a stick welder, put a couple of blobs of weld on top of the seized screw ...

this sounds exactly like the problem i had with my 40+ a few weeks ago. the vibration was the small pinion gear in the gearbox ripping itself to peices, leading to a loss of drive.

have you been checking the oil in the gearbox reguarly?

if this is the case its a pig of a job to split the gearbox ...
