Re: Using EP 140 oil in small Mariner gear box
Thank you all for the advice. Having changed the oil and used it a couple of times I now have and oil water emulsion in the box, so I guess oil seals have gone.

Using EP 140 oil in small Mariner gear box
Hi,
Can anyone advise me please, having just bought a seagull I bought 5litres of EP 140 for the gear box, can I use this in a Mariner 2hp as well, I believe the correct oil should be 90 grade, will the thicker stuff make any difference >

Re: Not pumping water at idle speed
No, I think you will find that is quite normal, advice elsewhere on the site seems to suggest that if your are running for some time at idle without water pumping then blipping the throttle every minute or so to pump water will keep the engine cool. Great little motors these 40ies.
