hi david. i bought a 1977 silver century in june, i saw it running in barrell for about 3 mins. it ran ok but he said it had not been run for years, he put fresh petrol in after agood few pulls it ran, so fuel is now 5 months old. if i drain tank and add fuel stabilizer run for 5 mins could i leave ...

talking to a pro- painter to-day, and he says 2 good coats of primer and a good quality gloss or enamel will do it

sorry i have not replied been away for a few days my boat is only small under 12 foot, only paid 100 euro for it imight try your way it be a bit cheaper i only be using in fresh water, as long as it last me 4or5 years i be happy cheers,

hi stelios. thanks for info, as a painter i shold have known better i checked out that site it was exellent i spoiled for choice just have to decide what colour.

after a few minor repairs i want to repaint my small boat, without going to massive expence could i use ordranry gloss paint,? or what about exterior acralic paint ? i do quite a bit of painting houses inside and out but never a boat
any ideas.

thanks to everyone for replys. but as i have boat out of the water doing some minor repairs and a paint job i think i will raise transom about 4in. and hope the boat will be stable. i will only be pike & perch fishing in the margins of loch conn, water not to deep there hence the reason for keep...

can anyone help. ihave 11ft 6in fibreglass boat 4ft 6ins beam. ave wieght my problem is i have a silver century with clutch long shaft. the transom is 14in high could i add another 5in to hight. would it make the boat unstable. i relise the motor is a bit big for the boat but thats all i got i have ...

thanks for positive feedback, feel happier now, cant wait to try it out but will be a while as doing a clean up and paint job on dingy. anyway lot of rain here on loch conn at moment very swollen, let you know how it handles later on tractor boy.

sorry to barge in, i have just bought a silver century plus. but i only have a 11foot 6 fibreglass dingy 4 foot 6 beam. now i read it is not sutible for my boat, it will only be used on lake trolling for pike. my boat is middle wieght , i am not familiar with using a clutch but i thought this would ...
