Re: Side Mount Bracket

On closer inspection I think they were possibly manufactured like that as the piece were the arrow is pointing is a shaped one piece of metal forming an integral part of the bracket, if the bracket had been narrowed there would be a weld where the bracket had been cut.

Re: Side Mount Bracket

The black one I got, I always thought it had been modified by the owner to fit a transom until I cam across another identical bracket which indicates either they were made like that as I’ve never seen a wider version or several were modified together.

Re: The History of Seagull Racing in Bermuda

I’m good to go and as I also come from a small island with a 40 foot (12.2meters) tide as well as constant wind and chop, it’ll be a little familiar and hopefully not too challenging albeit a lot warmer.

Re: The History of Seagull Racing in Bermuda

Thanks for that Charles, seems quite tough but what a great event, all I have to do now is see if I can get it together for next year!

Re: The History of Seagull Racing in Bermuda

I don’t think Charles and computers are very compatible so he sent me the email on the alternative course for this years race.
I find this race quite exciting and really hope to enter next year.

Flywheel woodruff key, is it in the correct slot in the flywheel? Has the ignition somehow shifted?

A Tail Of Marston Woes

This happened to me several years ago and I feel it’s time to share this story of mine. Probably like many of you I logged onto eBay and to my surprise a Marston OA popped up for sale, unusually there were two separate listings, an auction and a “Buy it Now”. On the buy it now listing the price was ...

Re: Marston Twin

Hi Jeremy, hope this answers some of your questions, most of the info’s on the sos site, there’s also a clipping from an advert I’ve got from 1935. Not many come up for sale and a very niche market as an OA is so much prettier and manageable, still, I have no doubt another one will eventually turn u...

Re: Marston Twin

I’m over the moon with it, all this messing around with these outboards is all a bit of fun but I’m quite passionate when it comes to my hobbies, I do them to the best of my ability and I have to confess that when I opened the crate after six months of waiting I shed a little tear, silly maybe but s...

Marston Twin

Well, after many years of searching and nothing more than blind luck and the help of some really great people I eventually found myself a Marston Twin to top off my collection travelling nearly 5000 miles to get here, she’s cleaned up but original, unrestored and in really great condition, even stil...

Re: The Marston Register Wish List.

Charles, you’ve been a top man and really helped me on this Marston Journey and for that I cannot thank you enough, I have some Marston spares that I am unlikely to need and in reality I’ve got several motors which are really beyond repair even though the thought of breaking a motor goes against the...
