Re: Villiers carb Repaired
Born Aussie but englush, scott and German in there. Yes turned on lathe and milled too.Probably worth more than carb but bits are getting harder to find here and I hate wasting stuff. We seem to get all the fiddly jobs!

Re: Civillity on the site Forum

Heard via email, came to check and it's all gone, so much for freedom of speech, bugger. Unfortunately it seems to happen on every forum with the end result of people storming off ...

If it ain't broke don't fit it!
Or if it's not broke get a bigger hammer and if it breaks it needed replacing anyway.

Re: Villers Carby V508C
Yes mower carb, I use both and all parts are the same. The seagull version usually has a hole in the side of the float chamber to help avoid any flooding issues and also allowing fuel to drain out when the motor is laid down. This stops having stale fuel in the carburetor if left for long periods of...

Re: I'm new here
I've never seen an original unused fuel line to know if they are clear or not but I used to use the standard clear PVC hose available cheap from your local rubber/hose dealer. The petrol slowly removes the plasticiser from the material over time making it hard and discoloured much like what we see n...

Re: seagull pull cord
I think around 6mm or 1/4 inch. Distance between knot and knob 600mm or 24", enough for three turns around the pulley. If the rope is too long or too fat it can lead to trouble by catching in the pulley or not coming free in time causing you to whip you or your family. I use that nice s...

"they" used to say do it up until it strips and then back off a quarter of a turn....
I'm not suggesting you do though.
At least the water indicates there is water with pressure in there. It usually leaks out and not in, I wouldn't worry too much.
