In the diagram: http://www.saving-old-seagulls.co.uk/fa ... s_carb.htm
Part 11 is titled "centrepiece and jet". Mine is marked "M90". Is this correct for my 40+ ?
I have blown every orifice with compressed air and aerosol carb cleaner.
Any other advice?

Carb Question #2
When I hold down the button to prime the carb, and fuel continues to leak out the weep holes after I release it.
Should the carb be level? The drive shaft is slightly angled.

2 stroke oil
I can't get my 'gull started. Before I start taking things apart, I need to know of there's a specific oil to mix with the petrol. I used Valvoline TC-W3 2 stroke oil.
Is that acceptable? The gas/oil mixture os a very dark colour.

Any Nevil Shute fans here at the SOS?
I just finished "Trustee From The Toolroom" for the second time and enjoyed it as much as the first.
"A Town Like Alice" is another great read, and was a pretty good movie, too.

Re: Finally found a little Clinker
The two clinkers you have shown, in the Puget Sound area (Microsoft / Amazon wealth) you could probably ask 2000.00US / 1275.00 GBP and sell within a week. Well cared for wooden boats are worth their weight in gold out here.

Re: IGN Module
I salute your electronics knowledge and skills ... I have none. I purchased a Nova II ignition module for $10.00 on Ebay here in the states. I had a Wipac in which the condenser was non functional. The ignition module solved the problem. Here is a video of a similar installation. Move ahead to 55 se...

Single Handed Flywheel Removal
The manuals, and the experts here, all warn against using any type of wheel puller to remove the flywheel. They suggest finding a second pair of hands to hold the motor by clasping the flywheel between them. I've come up with another method for those of us who have no willing friends. I purchased a ...

My tank is pretty clean.
Once had an old Honda 400f motorcycle with a gooped up and rusty tank. A biker friend suggested I take it to a local radiator shop. They dipped it in some sort of hot bath and it really came out nice.
