Re: Soggy Gulls

Well the ones here (east coast) are still crapping on the wife's clean washing and me, if i stand still long enough in the garden that is but other than that they are coping well. Not so sure about the poor...

Re: I made a anticav pan!

Thank you Charles for such an informative reply to my question. :P re: weighting the bow. This is what i have done to my 8ft dinghy by placing fixed ballast, this has made a huge difference to how it rides when under way as without this it was just to high at the bow and too bloody lively on the til...

Re: I made a anticav pan!

Ok, time to play spot the dumb arse.

Am i right in thinking this little add on to your outboard has the effect of not allowing it to be pulled deeper the more you rev it?

All insults gladly received

I do notice that with Seagulls I tend to get max speed at no more than 3/4 throttle, sometimes less. any more throttle just seems to increase noise.

Thats the same with the featherweight on my dinghy....

Maybe a 40+ will be on the cards?

Re: Cuckoo in my nest of seagulls.

Just got back from a trip up the river and perhaps im being a little anal about the frailty of my seagulls. However i did notice one thing and this is due to the extra hp of the ugly duckling. With the seagull i do creep along at a very slow pace at higher revs when running against the tidal flow of...

Cuckoo in my nest of seagulls.

As i sit at the moment i have 1 fully working featherweight, 1 featherweight under going a tasteful tart up and a couple of boxes of seagull spares ( which i have not even looked into) which im told hold all the parts for 2 complete seagulls; again both featherweights. The seagull thats on my dinghy...

DONT USE PAINT STRIPPER!! Not yet any way. Im a painter and decorator of nearly 30yrs experience and strongly advise against the use of a stripper at this stage as not only will it strip the paint but will loosen the glue of the transfer. If it were me i would slow myself down and ask a few mental q...

Glad its all going well. :P Lived on the boat during the yrs when i was between my ex and my now wife and to be honest it was great. Re: under water

Hows it all going with the clean up and sorting out your new mooring set up? Hope its all sorted now. On my 40ft live aboard i set up a system of stringer weights ( im sure you know how this works) as i too was moored on a tidal river with a drop of some height. This was a simple rise and fall to th...
