Had a season start yesterday!
Yesterday I had some time at my workshop again. First I replaced the oil against gearbox grease. The 140 was to thin and leaking at the prop. After that my plan to disjoint the lower unit failed, so there isn’t the original screw any more and it’s still a seized unit. But than the lower unit got som...

Re: fixing two Century (or at least one)
For a lot seized parts there is a helpful mixture of fire, oil and patience. I’m using a propane gas burner at home and WD40 is my favourite. For some things we have a oxygen/ acetylene cutting torch at work, what’s a little hotter and helpful for some other things like hard- soldering. Also helpful...

Re: fixing two Century (or at least one)
Nice work! I‘m using ceramic paste for nearly every screw that will be need to be untighten one day, especially if it’s getting hot like an exhaust or heater plugs of a Diesel engine. Like this: https://products.liqui-moly.com/ceramic-paste-3.html And there is also a special stuff called Tefgel, use...

Sadly i can‘t keep everything...
It’s sad but I can’t keep everything what’s coming to my workshop. After having some nice Christmas days i‘ve been there for clearing up and making some pictures. And now it’s official that i‘ll have to give away five engines. But maybe one of you is interested? The engines are located in Germany ne...

Re: Seagull with a tugboat (Youtube)
I can’t confirm that it’s a 102, but the description says it’s a long five blade propeller: Om de onverwoesbare kracht van de Seagull, Best Britisch Outboardmotor Of The World, weer te geven bedacht de DSC (Dutch Seagull Club) een powerchallence. Is het mogelijk dat een Seagull 5 pk langstaart met e...

Re: Something happened
Thanks a lot! I’m very excited to see the result in the end as a mixture of patina, cleaning and repainting the lower unit... You‘ll get more pictures as soon as it’s possible for me to go on with it.

Seagull supply
This weekend nothing really happened. But my parents have been here for a visit and I got the last Seagulls. They’re not in the best condition. Especially the 102‘s have a lot of parts missing and sadly the AD20524 is seized. The parts from the box are the rest of two 102 Plus, but nothing really in...

Re: Something happened
Thank you very much for your special knowledge. I’m sure there wasn’t a paper gasket, but the engine isn’t untouched so everything is possible. The trust washer has been there, a ~2mm thick brass(?) one and a very thin steel one. I’m sorry for the bad quality, but i‘ll Show you a picture of both and...

Re: Monday, monday
Sadly I wasn’t able to get out the oil plug by just using oil, heat and normal tools. Tomorrow i‘ll have to build a wrench socket for the wheel gun. Started today with filing a thick washer but i‘ll have to weld it to a screw or something like that. PS: Is it normal that there wasn’t a gasket betwee...
