Re: Something happened

Had a first test last weekend. It’s not ready yet, but I think it’s on a good way anyway.

Re: Something happened

After the sun came out again I decided that the seagull will be a piece of scenery for the rest of first. So it’s equal if it’s leaking or not or if the grease could be it’s end.

But there will be a mounting made of a thick piece old, tropical wood and some more parts...

Re: Something happened

Sadly I had not so much time for the seagull the last months. But in the last weeks i finished the bracket. Maybe it’s not the correct one, but it’s not broken like the two aluminium ones I found. And maybe i‘ll repair one of the older ones in the future by welding and so on. The engine isn’t finish...

I‘m living also a little to far away for picking it up. And since brexit it’s easier to buy stuff from China than from the island with that customs, so i won‘t organise shipping.

Re: Sadly i can‘t keep everything...

Today i’ve tested them. This three are running, but they’ll need attention at all. But sadly the FP14… has a unnormal noise from the flywheel or the crankshaft and maybe not the most coolant. The price for these three engines will be at 180€ and it’s negotiable. Collection is possible in Germany, on...

Re: Sadly i can‘t keep everything...

I‘ve sold two of them to a collector today. Maybe he’ll be a new member to this Forum the next time.

These ones are still available:

Re: Something happened

The two brackets you have are basically the same however it should not be painted. The real difference is at the mounting of the drive shaft tube. One of them has a plate for securing the engine when it’s lowered. The other one only has a rusty formed plate. Maybe I should take some more pictures?

Re: Something happened

Don't put grease in the lower unit, it will result in little or no lubrication to the gears and pinion bush. If you put 140 grade oil in and fill it to just below the level of the prop shaft it will be fine. It’s a special gearbox grease (00/000) for open and closed gearboxes in industrial use. It’...

But now a question…

But I have a question about the correct mounting bracket. I have the black one from the 53‘s and the aluminium oxide one from the 51‘s. And they‘re different in detail. Which one would be the correct one for my engine?
