Re: Early British Seagull tank

A very modest cost, it might surprise you. The original agreement was signed in late December 1937 between the Bristol Motor Boat Company (now operated solely by Way-Hope and Pinniger) and Marstons. They were to take over the patents, drawings, stocks of motors and spares, goodwill etc, for the pri...

Re: You Tube Videos that should provoke some conversations

I watched both.

In the first one I cringed when putting the gearbox together. The narrative was just totally duff.

In the second I could only hear the gearbox whine while someone was "having fun".

There was a how to manual on the bench which looked really good....

Sigh.

Reading that Rene it is obvious just how sneaky someone can be.

Thank you for telling the sad tale ... heads up to us all.

Re: I am Interested

Update The old bird turned up a couple of weeks ago less the fuel tank which will be sent again when degassed via normal British Mail. Very pleased with it...how really good examples survive and come out of the blue astounds me. I bet traveling down here in a jet was not remotely dreamed of when it...

Re: New to British Seagulls (40 Plus)

Welcome aboard Nik

Clean it really well so as to look its best first. Then away you go on your adventure after that.

Working on something really clean on the outside instills confidence.

Do you have room for the other ones that will come along? :P

Re: FVs

2. Bruce - how is progress with FV2844/3302? Has 3302 been consigned to just bits and not worth restoring, whilst 2844 has been brought back from the dead? I hope 2844 is in fine fettle. Sorry for the late reply mate. All of the FVs are in boxes. I have sorted bits for a pristine gearbox to transom...

Re: I am Interested

Who are you shipping it with? That one I sent you some years back went via DHL in around 5 days. Not cheap though! Maybe Christian has read that and taken to heart as a better way (DHL direct) not going through a third party. Realistically I have a lot of money tied up with existing shipping costs ...

The package has "Gas Cylinders..."

Gas as in propane.

Seller is sorting out getting the old gent to me one way or another.

Re: Early 102 on the Bay

How about that...has solved a mystery for me.

My friend has AD2710

Except for clutch of course and...

No aluminium brackets but has 90 deg clamps.

It looks like AC2721 has a cracked block?
