Saving Old Seagulls

Takes me back to my teenage years, my Dad had a Wayfarer and it was during the glory years of Seagulls when we saw them every where on the Welsh coast.

One thing I love about the Seagull motors is their ability to run the carb almost completely dry when the fuel is shut off and the way they can be easily transported with a tank of fuel and ready to go when you hit the water. I get SAE 140 from my local agricultural store apparently it's still used on farm machinery and you get a lifetimes supply as the can is huge for not many dollars.

SAE 90 can be bought in Walmart if nothing else in a Quicksilver brand but is pricey $11 for a quart.

A great project nicely executed and the best bit about it is you ended up with a great little fun boat that will give you endless enjoyment and get used regularly.

The one thing I really love about Seagulls is the ability to start and run the thing out of the water due to the impeller design. If it's not been run for a while it's great just to be able to start it quickly just to make sure it will do so when you get to the water, much better than having to mess...

I'd love to assist in such a project but being in the US would make it a little difficult, my Seagull may be getting a little tired by the time I've crossed the Atlantic...

The answer to the original question is a resounding NO! Even as someone with a reasonable collection of firearms and a great love for them, I cannot imagine wanting to spend that sort of money, even if I had millions in the bank, because things that are not going to be used for their intended purpos...

Yes, exactly like it. It's pretty difficult to get here in UT, it sells out really quickly. I'm sure this storm will not help supplies, but I can certainly go with out Ginger Beer when you have to deal with that storm and flooding.

Wow that is terrible. Bundaberg, Is that where the Bundaberg Ginger Beer comes from that they sell here in the US?
