1/4 scale
Had an idea to try and design and 3D print a 1:4 scale featherweight so have started this thread to document progress, it may interest someone! I’m not going for exact replica (bolts, chamfers etc), just as close as I can get without spending days on my laptop. Did the featherweight gearbox tonight,...

Bing trumpet action!
Designed and printed an alternative inlet cover for my bing carb today as it lost it’s square seagull one. Re: Genuine “barn find”
Painted the flywheel and put a couple of clear coats on the tank to try and preserve it.

Re: Genuine “barn find”
Took the tank off today and gently removed the flaky paint, and I’m going to try and restore it whilst retaining the original decals. Has anyone attempted paint touch ups with enamel paint? Either with a fine brush or an airbrush. Pics of the tank below: C9D4C84A-B445-4ECF-AC09-1C8EFBC7D9FC.jpeg 195...

Re: Genuine “barn find”
Inside of the box has a wooden cross support at the height of the transom bracket that the motor sits on, so the box looks like it has been made to house a seagull originally.

Genuine “barn find”
Put out an alert on “Nextdoor” for British seagull outboards and got a hit. Re: Something different
3D pattern is definitely possible, I would like to attempt it, if anyone has drawings of a marston block with dimensions of waterways/ transfers I am happy to try to CAD one up. Printing a block would need to be scaled up a couple of percent for casting I would imagine? And the surface finish of the...

Something different
I’m currently experimenting with some 3D printing, and have tried to recreate a century cylinder head on fusion 360. I’m still getting used to the new software, so this is only version 1. Odd link
Hi,
Just thought I’d report that when I click the link to saving old seagulls straight off chrome, it takes me to the eventide owners group. Anyone know why?

Recoil help!
Found this recoil housing in some spares I was given, anyone have any idea what it’s from? Also how/ where does it mount, to the baseplate or the crankcase, or somewhere else? Never dealt with recoils before, forgive the naivety. AB559DA4-14E7-4C91-9EBA-C93231D43320.png E98F04E8-9806-443E-A172-651C7...
