Re: Mine Won't Start Either....
Interesting one, are you using the correct fuel mix for the jet in your carb as some have been switched around?

Re: Boat build
Main motors that will be used are my race century, seagull 6 and Johnson 6, so I hope to achieve above hull speed. The boat is fibreglassed now so will be painted in next couple of days will send pics then, not planning on adding stringers on the underside but may do if I have issues with tracking o...

Boat build
Thought I would start a thread detailing the boat I’m building at the moment. Schools over, weathers lovely, so seemed like the perfect time. The LOA is 11ft 3 inches, the beam is just under 4ft and the transom height is 15 inches. Drew the plans by looking at lots of other boats and hopefully takin...

Re: Featherweight “Special”
Got it running properly today, at WOT it's starving of fuel due to the new velocity stack but hand restriction on the intake got it up to revs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZcQJeCysXI Some improvement with adjustable timing top end (roughly 10 percent at WOT according to tachometer) and good slo...

Re: Featherweight “Special”
It’s going to have an exhaust, just need to pull it off another motor and wanted to see if it ran in the meantime. At the moment Charles, my hand! The baseplate is fairly tight against the crankcase, and the handle is tight against the guide, so it moves much less than I expected, but once I put it ...

Featherweight “Special”
Started the featherweight “special” today . Frickin loud with no exhaust! Will do a running video when the tachometer arrives in the post from China, but slow running and fast running works as it should.

Re: Amal 416 fuel banjo CAD?
Cad file is a ten minute job, but what would you print it out of? PLA and ABS is a no go, very little chemical resistance. If your friend can print out of nylon, you’d have a better chance. Can his hot end go >250*? Another option would be to print a mould and cast from resin. I will look into this ...

Re: 1/4 scale
Decided to make the exhaust tubes out of stainless, think it’s going to look much better when it’s done! Attention to detail is key I think, so I’m going back and designing plug caps, ht lead connections on the base plate etc. Definitely a lot of work, mainly trial and error! Picture of the first at...

Re: 1/4 scale
Mk1 tiller arm and carb, throttle assembly is printed in 5 pieces, a lot more definition to be had once printed on .2 as these are .4, but it’s coming together! Sourced some 1.5 mm rubber cord for the throttle cabling which should do the trick. 50F0EF4E-28DC-40AC-B5BE-5014E264F2CA.jpeg 06957366-8536...

Re: 1/4 scale
As a first attempt I’m quite happy with it, done with a .4 mm nozzle with fast print speed, was really just to test tolerances. Got some .2 nozzles in the post so second attempt should have a nicer finish, thumb screws in the transom bracket, spinning flywheel and moving tiller arm. Anyway this is w...

Re: 1/4 scale
Forgot to add the tiller arm mount to the crankcase rookie error! Haven’t tried carb yet but I’m working on the transom bracket at the moment, quite fiddly.
