Other than Kettle de-scaler (has little effect on rust ) what about brown sauce for rust removal ?

I dont know if its much use, but i remember my farther using an adaption to my mothers old hand cranked sowing machine. I think ist a towable speed log, it attaches to a rope nd the other end to the log that registers the speed. Thats my thaughts forwhat its worth!
