Seagull refueller

Does anyone have any details on the seagull refueller, like years of manufacture, how many were made etc.

Re: Building a “racer”

I’m doing a similar thing at the moment. I suggest reading up on all the forum posts discussing this previously, reams of information there. Those with “race” centurys that run well have got there through extensive r&d, there’s no silver bullet, and if someone had found one they’d keep it close ...

Re: Pair of 102s

Your right Charles, only just noticed. There is a large scratch across the case that covers the letter T making it considerably later.

Pair of 102s

Picked up a 1948 102 today, AC4395, aswell as crankcase/block assembly of a 1946 102, HC60710L. The AC4395 is in fairly good condition, but when flywheel is turned it snags and doesn’t turn about 50 degrees btdc. Pulled the block off the crankcase, see below. Re: Sjm restoration

Fully freed up now H-A, let it sit with some wd40 in it, heated it for a while then repeated and the next morning it was free.

Elbows out is bad etiquette at a bootsale, as we all know

Sjm restoration

Hi all, I’ve been getting lucky with seagulls at boot sales, 2 in 2 weeks! Got a 1960 sjm, 67CBFEF3-E2EF-4E78-AAF9-3732DEDA375C.png very attractive thing in my opinion if I can do it up right. Compared to some newer motors I’ve worked on so far (1970s and 80s), this one has proved a little trickier ...

Code question

Got a featherweight at a car boot sale today, someone’s given it a brushed paint job but otherwise it’s tidy.

This is the code on it, but on the engine identifier it seems to struggle with the “WO” part of the code. Can anyone give me some more info? Thanks

Re: century parts difference

Hi Red, The crankcase on the century 100 and the silver century are different. This is the century 100 crank case IMG_1412.jpeg , and this is the silver century crankcase IMG_1413.jpeg . The transfer port of the silver century won't mach up to the crankcase of the century 100 and vice versa. You may...

Re: 416 carby question

Needle and pilot jets are not the same, pilot jet controls the idle circuit, needle jet controls everything after that up until about 3/4 throttle and then 3/4 to WOT is done by the main jet, as far as i'm aware

Unidentified carb

Hi all, please can someone help me identify this carb. I got it in a box of spares and am not sure what it’s come off. It’s marked “B” and villiers on the side. Gearbox swapping

Hi all, i'm looking for some advice, I'm thinking about doing bit of gearbox swapping, putting a 40 plus box with anti weed prop on to a silver century leg (not clutch driven). Obviously the exhaust tube on the 40 is smaller than the century, so I can't use the top plate that connects the crank and ...

Re: Century 100 restoration.

Have had a go at giving the tank a new lease of life, by no means a perfect job by me but you've gotta start learning somehow! First up was removing the tank and tank bracket, which was simple enough. The bolts connecting the bracket to the engine just about held up, however both the U-shaped bolts ...
