Prop shaft diameters / thrust washer compatibility

Are the prop shafts same diameter for fortys and centuries?

Need a thrust washer for a WSPC and can grab one off a spare 40. But I don’t have them in the same place to compare beforehand, so want to check before I make the trip to bring the 40 back.

Thanks!

Thanks for the link. I ended up buying another on eBay, working well so far!

It’s just inside the gates of Dockyard. In a perfect building for the collection. Mostly old 50-150cc bikes, must be hundreds in there of all ages, and apparently the primary collector has plenty more in storage!

Stopped by for my first visit to the transport museum in Bermuda today. A fantastic place to browse and I'll be sure to go back again when I have more time (and less kids with me). A couple seagulls on the rack: rack1.jpg and a cutaway century, unsure of model/year, has a Villiers carb. No serial nu...

A candidate for my next project. Everyone loves photos! Had this a couple years but never checked it out until today. Spins freely, and most things that are supposed to move do. Coil has gone the way they are all going, no readings on the meter. It does have an orange spark, first time I've noticed ...

Re: Sometimes you just go Ok. and keep looking

Yes, perceived values can be skewed by sentiment as with all things! I bought a WSPCL in much better, with factory tag, original condition for a few hundred $’s a couple years ago. Doubt it was ever started outside the factory and either way was in better condition than the one on eBay now. My selle...

Yes this is a known issue to do with an update on the eBay interface. On the list to address, thanks for your patience!

Hi all, It is possible that some username/password combinations for the forum were compromised at some point in the past. I was given a generic notice that they may be available somewhere on the dark web. I have no further details at this time. The forum content is free and public, so it would not b...

Re: I have a cunning plan......

I’ve been there before! You’re lucky it’s still above the ports. I have successfully used a grease nipple/gun every time this happens. Amazing the pressure a simple handheld grease gun puts out, something like 10,000 psi or more. Before I discovered this trick I messed up really seized piston/cylind...

Re: Tiller stud removal

One came out today, from the donor FP case. Center portion a bit scraped up from the grips but threads in good condition, will be fine once cleaned up a bit. But the stud in the SJM has less non-threaded portion to grip onto, only about 4mm protruding versus about 8mm on the FP. Already chewed it up...

Tiller stud removal

Any tips on getting these out other than the usual heaps of heat? Trying to swap one out from a spare crank case to my current project, but couldn’t get either stud out with heaps of heat and a hefty pair of vice grips. I don’t want to shear the studs so thought I would check on the forum before giv...

Wanted: silver century cylinder

Looking for a silver century cylinder to be sent by post. Don’t mind visual condition, but it will be used actively so condition is important.

Last one sat with salt water in the waterways for about 10 years...
