Eddie go & search on the forum for "seagull register" this will show you all the details of all of the SD's on the register & many of their technical details, you will note that no one states long or short water jacket as they all had short water jackets & a crankcase with 4 st...

Re: SD12802J

Hugo are you able to pass comment on these pictures? Hugo is the Australian Gentleman who is compiling the SD register To the best of my knowledge no SD's were manufactured with a long water jacket cylinder & the serial number font on your crankcase looks different to fonts used by Seagull betwe...

Re: Paraffin As A Fuel....Always Bugged Me

There was a Kingfisher paraffin model that was designed for the Asian market, but I've never seen one & I can't remember where I read about it.

Re: About to start 45 Featherweight after 35 years —gear oil question

Andrew does your throttle cable have a kink where it's wrongly threaded through the cable wrecking hole?

Bill the fact that your gearbox the pinion locating screw just above the end cap retaining screw means as Andrew said, it's a SAE 140 box.

Re: About to start 45 Featherweight after 35 years —gear oil question

Bill can you post the serial number serial number from your 40 as that looks like a CDI ignition, can you also post a picture of the gearbox end cap, so we can count the screws, that Andrew was talking about.

Re: Identify the stamp on the skeg of SD102??

I've seen 3 or 4 with traces of navy grey paint under the flywheel cover.

But have never heard any hints of any order by the Naval ministry of supply but then nothing from back then seems very logical!
