Well if you think about it this way, if you can get the powerhead to the same running revs as the yamaha powerhead with the leg that indicates the speed increase. Here are some more things somewhat outside the box.

It has been done THCL500J8, Its a simple concept but take a bit of work to setup, You will need a slab of aluminium and a drill press and a milling machine could be done other ways but this is the way I have mine, They make very nice quiet smooth running motors and having a good water pump and rever...

Having a long range tank means you don't have to fill it up as often, which is great when combined with the filler cap I did above, they can be done with both the ali and black fuel cap just make sure if you use a black one not to heat the brass insert when drilling or tapping as it could spin. Yes it is definitely not a 10 minute job, Nothing like the low maintenance classics, these require bit more TLC, From the outside they can be quite deceiving its not until you get them open does one see the many things that could have gone wrong if it was jut started and run. Why is stripping a 5R before running so important? Ive got one sitting on my bench feels fine how bad can it go? Do I have to pull it to pieces?

I will see what i can do, i make them like the 2-jet trumpets, parallel with flared end. What lengths would you be after as i will make them at set lengths say 1,1.5,2 inch?
