Odds and ends on ebay for Seagull?
Just wondering if anyone can confirm if these parts are indeed for a Seagull? This first one is piston that looks a little different from the Seagull ones I've seen: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=018&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=28011509198...

Thread type on STD 06010
I need a few of these screws, STD 06010, that secure the recoil starter to the flywheel cover on a MarkIII featherweight (AF model). Are these BSF threads or some other more easily obtainable thread? They are 1/4' by 3/4" cheeseheads, according to the Spare manual.

Try this!
The PO of my featherweight did this repair to the fuel tap with brass tubing, solder, and a very small drill bit or pin. Seems to work as I do get a decent flow of fuel into my carburetor. http://members.cox.net/rkchinn/photos/mod%20fuel%20tap.jpg I bought some brass gauge and thought about manufact...

140W gear oil
I bought some Stalube SAE140 from NAPA last year, gallon size about $18. The part number is SL24238. Your local store should be able to get if they don't have it in stock. My local NAPA said they couldn't get it. I called another NAPA store 15 miles away and they could get it. They both got their st...

Try this guy
http://www.geocities.com/baggens/seagull/Owners/Bag.html Click on his name for the link to email. He may be a little slow to reply since I don't think it's his primary email address. I bought a polished stainless exhaust tube for a 40+ from him a while back. As I recall, he had some for featherweig...

Any suggestions for easy fix of smashed tank?
Thanks to UPS, my fuel tank, which looked like this prior to shipping: http://members.cox.net/rkchinn/photos/wspcl539FF4pre.jpg now looks like this: http://members.cox.net/rkchinn/photos/SummerFall06-013s.jpg http://members.cox.net/rkchinn/photos/wspcl%20postups%20small.jpg Any suggestions, short of...

Ebay seagull tank
With regards to your tank repairs, as we are in the middle of the silly season for Ebay.co.uk I saw a brass tank with a good original sailorman transfer & 2 peanut sized dinks go for £7.50 last week. I know your $ is worth very little in the rest of the world, but at these prices it might well...

I hate to be a bit of a bore...
...but isn't the tool about which everyone is raving more properly called an "obstruction spanner"? I thought an "offset spanner" is one where the plane of rotation of the head is in a different plane of rotation of the handle, e.g., below: http://www.abmtools.com/images/Spanners...

Which penny to use?
Abe or the Queen? If this doesn't cure the problem your going to have to make a patch out of an old small copper coin in which you've drilled the right size hole & bent it to the right curvature, it would be best if the date on the coin reflected the year of your motor.

additional thoughts on leaking tank
Looking at the pictures of your Seagull, it appears that the brass tank that the previous owner used to replace the presumably rusted original steel tank is actually meant for the 40 series of motors where the fuel valve is on the port side of the motor, closest to the carburetor. What the previous ...

Tickler valve, fuel leak
Here's the staring procedure from the owner's handbook for the Model 90 /EFNR (answer to your specific question in bold ): STARTING TO START FROM COLD 1. See that the motor is free to swivel to permit steering (steering tension can be adjusted as already described). 2. Unscrew the air vent screw in ...
