Re: SD Register

Bayonet cap is indeed fuel cap. Magneto numbers on magnetos with the "coolie hat" flywheel usually have a JM number stamped on the flywheel. This is useful as it is known that the JM numbers were issued out from Villiers in number order, so generally follow seagull production from the earl...

Re: Favorite Tank Paint in your Neck of the Woods

One thing to note re using 2 pack rattle cans. The hardener is highly toxic, and this paint should only be used with a air fed mask in a proper spray booth with extraction.

Re: Favorite Tank Paint in your Neck of the Woods

To clean out the tank, I do the following start with soaking with kerosene (Paraffin in the UK) after that drain and fill will a caustic soda solution. After that put a handful of clean pea gravel in and shake, shake, shake. Remove the gravel and inspect, repeat if required. For paint simoniz tough ...

Re: Something happened

Don't put grease in the lower unit, it will result in little or no lubrication to the gears and pinion bush. If you put 140 grade oil in and fill it to just below the level of the prop shaft it will be fine. It’s a special gearbox grease (00/000) for open and closed gearboxes in industrial use. It’...
