Another perspective shot, she certainly doesn't look 14'.
I am surprised that there was only 1 seagull there, given the 8 or so down here at the Hobart WBF.
But there was 1, and on the water, that is the main thing.

Hi Chris, Green Bean is 14' long. The boat used to be Green Bean, which was 8' long, and a year or so ago I cut it in half and added 7'. Runs much better with my Seagulls now .... and also sails well too.

Smart looking boat! How did you add the middle 7 feet? That must have been just a bit harder then building from scrathc.

Here is Green Pea (in 2001) with an undercoat - testing for flotation balance position for the rowing seat and rowlock position. Last year I cut it exactly in half and added 7'. No problem, just screwed a few cross braces to maintain the beam and keel line. Scarfed in stringers and planks (4mm plywood).

And here is Green Bean, showing the 14' length, a bit under powered with the 40+, but then so is the sound.

Rob there was another Seagull on the water, the cabin cruiser that was displayed with a 102 on
the back went for a run late on Sunday. It was moving very slowly and did not go far.

Rob:

The Green Bean lines are very reminiscent of the 8 foot canvas skined Handy Andy of the 1920s. Nice little boat. I am always impressed when guys have the smarts to build a Pram bow.
