Cholsey 2016

Post by headdownarseup »

As per the title, would anyone like to do a Cholsey run this year as it seems the "canal run" wont be going ahead as planned previously due to A-J having a major health setback (quite a big one it seems)

I'm thinking somewhere in summer school holiday approx. 22nd July- 05th sept.
Preferably a weekend works for me but i can try and work around things if it suits.

Just putting it out there :P

Could sneak one in end of May for the keen types, also Hayling could be done again this year.

Yep, normal format same as always.
Why change something that works well.

I shall try and bring the 2 boats along, the bigger 17 footer and my new little toy the 10 foot inflatable. (keeps the kids happy that way)

Thats 3 so far, any more takers

pm me with some dates that suits you and i'll try and work to whatever comes in. :P

This will make getting on the water a little easier.

Nice little rubber ducky Keith.

2.6 OR 2.9 METER?

Nice and easy to launch too which is a bonus AND it wont take up much room when it's in storeage either.

Should go ok with something small on the back.

See you on the water sometime soon then! :P

Its only a 2.6m Jon, the smaller the better really, I wouldn't have that much room in the car when I including an outboard.
Plus the biggest motor I would want to use on it is my 1959 Evinrude 5.5 Golden Jubilee motor.

Size isn't everything Keith

Should be a nice combination to use.
Now lets hope for some good weather. I'm looking forward to this.

To all those that have expressed an interest in this ,have we decided on any dates yet? I'll try to work to whatever dates you suggest, although weekends work much better for me. Just give me a bit of notice in advance so i can clear things with the "boss". (that's the boss at work NOT Mrs.HDAU)

Great, look forward to seeing you again.

Maybe H-A can help out with his yellow boat again this year, if not i shall be bringing my inflatable along with the blue/white "slug"

Have we thought about any dates yet?
Weekends work best for me and probably most of you as well.
Just give me enough notice so i can clear things with the boss at work.

I'm fairly easy as long as it's over a week end. :P

Are we any closer to deciding on a date yet?

Rather than broadcasting to the entire country, might i suggest PM's between us to finalize the details. You never know who might be trying to muscle in on our little gathering (if you know what i mean)

Not quite Hugo...

It will end up being a minority spoiling it for the majority. No more fun on the Thames FOR FREE.
