Its a funny thing. I have heard it said from more than one source that the float chamber should be mounted to the rear so that it is furthest away from the cylinder. But if you do that then you can't see the logo.

That's a strange shaped trumpet, where did that come from & don't forget the second fibre washer, it might stop it dripping!

Bottom picture correct for SD (copper fuel line), top picture post war. I always thought the front of motor is the transom bracket.

Your comment concerning which is the front seems obvious now that you mention it, but most of the time I am looking at the fuel tank side. But is 'away from the cylinder' correct or not?

One other thing - both pics are of the same carb. And its for sale if anyone wants it without the trumpet which in any case is not an original Seagull part.

I saw that, where did the odd looking trumpet com from come from, home made?
