The last Seagulls

Hi all, I was wondering, Does anyone know what motors were in the range just before British Seagull ceased, was it the Seagull 2,3,4, the two 5’s and 6? (Aka featherweight, 40 plus, Curlew, Osprey, 5R, Kingfisher)?

It would be interesting to know

What a great question.

The newest I have is ED 49MM2 (102)

I would also be interested in later than that (Models).

Hello There,

In the last days of Seagull 1993 to 1996, the two girls in the office, Sam and Jackie, built a few by hand themselves, as all the assembly chaps had gone. There were a few Seagull 2's, or Featherweights, and a few model 90's of Seagull 5's as they renamed them. These two models were the only ones they made at that time.

I cleared the factory in 1996 and got this from the ladies themselves.

I also had the engine number documents and a folder of photos pushed into my hand as they were skipping everything, as the lad who gave themm
to me said, 'he trusted me with them and no one else cared!' Sad really.

The latest one I have is a 1990 TSEFPC, that's a mouthfull, basically a Forty plus with clutch, sealed gearbox and a twistgrip! Hangs on the stern rail of my sailing cruiser and used for the tender. One of the best they made I reckon!

A great bit of info, and quite sad really, the demise of something that was once so great and affected so many people,
Just so interesting, I bet those photos told a story...
