I’ve just picked up a QB Osprey and apart from the prop everything else looks identical to my Kingfisher so my question is, does anybody know the differences between the QB Osprey and the Kingfisher?
Thanks you

Re: QB series
Is it the same powerhead but a different prop and gear ratio?

Re: QB series
you should get one of these Rene
needle roller crank, i would say the best motor that Seagull made.

Well A-H, you are probably right, but my mind is playing tricks. I try to keep notes on all the motors I have just so I know what’s what and where they came from, the problem I have is that I remember buying a Seagull 6, roller crank and all, my notes tell me so as well, KLR 6G1 in excellent condition it says but can I find it... I looked everywhere but no sign of it and I’m running out of sheds and garages to look into.
Next time, in my notes I’ll state where I put the damn thing!!
Oyster, from what I can tell and from the spec sheet the gearboxes are the same only the props are different, the power heads are identical including the carbs....
Surely nobody would come up with a completely new model of motor and the prop is the only difference from its bigger brother!

Re: QB series
I've had 3 Seagull 5's (Osprey) only one had a 420 the other 2 had a pumped 416 4 which takes the larger needle valve
It's a very easy upgrade to get a bit more ooomph!

Re: QB series
Well I eventually found them, on closer inspection I found the Kingfisher has a 420 carb and the Osprey has a 418 even though the Manual, albeit slightly earlier states the Osprey should have a 416, I guess specs change probably due to availability and cost.

Re: QB series
Check the jet in the 418, if it's fitted with a 100 it's been removed from a Curlew where the 418 was the standard carb.
But if it's wearing a 110 jet, there's a factory fit possibility.
