The lower picture has the correct thrust block but bracket has been cut and welded right at the top, to fit a much thinner hull, possibly on a transom.

Whereas the top picture has had a top support fitted in place as a thrust block, & some weird device attached to the top support, so no ability to tilt, don't hit anything underwater!

The black one I got, I always thought it had been modified by the owner to fit a transom until I cam across another identical bracket which indicates either they were made like that as I’ve never seen a wider version or several were modified together.

On closer inspection I think they were possibly manufactured like that as the piece were the arrow is pointing is a shaped one piece of metal forming an integral part of the bracket, if the bracket had been narrowed there would be a weld where the bracket had been cut.

Rene can you attach it onto a drive shaft tube & take a picture, from these pictures the top & bottom fitting don't look to line up.

I have enjoyed everything above.

For some reason I ask for old things that are not really available.....trending with that aye.

I will make do with a conventional bronze transom mount (period correct) from what I have.

Thanks to everyone for the added info of course.

I will post the Old Dear in one clean assembly soon.
