G'day Seagullrestorer,

A problem for us in Aus is the time difference of course. Often we miss on those difficult to find parts because we're sleeping lol.

I do keep an eye on your eBay store, and have been in touch previously. Right now I am looking for a few parts to compliment a Wartime SD arriving in the next day or so. If you come across an early bronze skeletal bracket, Marston style fuel cap and the lower drive shaft clamp assembly normally associated with the side mount bracket, I would love to hear from you.

Yes, I do know that a fuel cap just sold, but as said I was sleeping and missed out.

Thanks & Regards,
Spiro

Hi there

It’s very difficult to get Marston and SD parts in this country so combined with being on the other side of the world it must be really frustrating for you.
As far as SD parts are concearned I only have a copper top cover and throttle lever
My eBay listings are currently having a holiday but will be back on Friday

Thanks for making these bits available.
Hopefully will get another one going.

I had repaired this one with epoxy, and managed to keep the waterways clear, but later found pinholes in the bore.

The repaired one will probably be surplus to requirements if anyone is looking for a display only cylinder.

I've had to make new parts for my OG, as there are no parts about at all.

I would love to get a few 78cc barrels cast but unfortunately the cost would be prohibative, always a thought though

The consensus was that if we had replacement 78cc cylinders cast, the 6 or 7 OA's that the Marston parts wish list, has broken over the last 10 years that benefited numerous owners, would be that the parts these owners were still looking for would cost a kings ransom due to the lack of supply!

Take recent sales, a fuel tap recently sold for £35.00, to re manufacture would cost circa £100.00 in 10's, fuel tanks about the same, though fuel caps are still available, con rods circa £150.00 in 10's, cranks £450.00.

The last 30 transom screws including pads I had made 8 years ago, £27.00 each, £800 & took 7 years to break even. No idea what today's prices would be.

There is no way anyone could afford to re cast 3 different exhausts just for the OA's!

Perhaps it's better to lose a few of the total for the greater benefit!

Ultrasonic bath for a couple of hours, degrease and paint.

I should start another thread " rebuilding an OA"
