ACR1025L

I have acquired ACR1025L . If I punch this into the identifier I get age unknown . If I remove the R it comes up as 1947-48 . Would this R denote reconditioned ?

Thanks for your comments . I read alot of posts on the forum on the 'R' subject and appreciate its a grey area so just wondered what your thoughts were . I had a closer look while taking pictures , seems to be alot of parts that don't match the date . Interesting heavy duty support bracket ! Added a picture of ED115MM2 which came with it 8)

That bracket looks homemade, but a decent job 8) The general understanding we have is that the R indicates the engine had be part of the factory refurbishment scheme. That seems to have included later parts (those then available) being fitted to older engines, which is what we see nowadays.
