I'm thinking of altering the length of a tank so that I can stow the engine down under a narrow hatch. I thought I could swap tanks from another engine , but the fuel tap was on the wrong side, and that would mean the longer fuel hose would be badly routed around the engine block. So if I cut down the correct tank to a smaller length, is it just a case of a good fit, soldered? Or is this just not a good idea?
Some good advice would be most appreciated! Thanks.

Re: tank alterations
The small oval tank is available with the fuel outlet on both sides.
Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.
Re: tank alterations
Excellent, Charles many thanks, you've saved me a lot of work. I had just looked at a lot of info from 2014 on removal and soldering and decided it was a bad idea for me at least.
