Tinker
Where are the pics of your new Flea hull, there are only 8 sleeps left before the talk stops & it's time to walk the walk.
Take pity on us poor Poms who are having to live through an English spring, while your worried about the Willow leaves blocking your water intake.
We need news!

Re: Just built a new boat for a seagull
Finally some pictures
The rig, built the trailer the night before from an old trailer we had lying around.
Said vessel at nine miles an hour, Seagull powered.
Three the same half way down the riverRe: Just built a new boat for a seagull
Wow, any more photos of the truck (lorry). That would be a side valve, hey! Is that a sleeper behind the cab? Makes my 60's transit van positively dull.
To maintain 9mph was the gull at full throttle or does she maintain hull speed at lower revs?

Re: Just built a new boat for a seagull
The engine is at almost full throttle. However starting to build up another couple of engines, I want to see if I can get some more speed if I spend a little more time putting them together correctly, even maybe balancing them better. Also want to work on the props as I can see a lot of potential there.
As for the truck, it is a1947 Austin K2, it had an OHV engine in it. It now has a four cylinder Nissan Diesel and ten speed gearbox, fitted in her. It gets along the road at about 100kms. The Nissan made the truck into a daily driver for the last ten years. It is in need of another rebuild which I hope to do soon.

No we used the blue boat as a pattern an added our own modifications. There was a basic line drawing around, I will try and get it for you if you want it.

How do you think the Bermudan Flea hull would perform with say 5hp & 10hp?

Don't know but we are going to give it a go. Most jap engines of that power are still quite heavy.
