Deeply Technical Question (non-Seagull)

Post by charlesp »

Anyone know where I can get a small (12" diameter) plastic washing up bowl for my boat? Must be blue, I'm reliably informed. The local camping shop informs me they're simply not available any more.

The original mysteriously became contaminated with used engine oil during recent maintenance work, and I have it on good authority that an urgent replacement must be sought.

Help me before it's too late.

How about this one? Not blue, but will it keep you the right side of the boss?

Hugz sounds pretty brave when separated by 12,000 miles of water, lets see what happens when face to face.

Sadly it seems that metrication dominates the world of washing up bowls, they now all seem to be made in metric sizes.

Item number: 160597161606 on ebay could be acceptable at a little over 11 inches ( 28cm) but there again the particular blue may be the wrong shade.

http://marinestore.co.uk/MD305110x.html may be a candidate, a darker blue, but the size is 26cm or 10.2 inches.

Unless your female crew carry rulers in their handbags you might just get away with the metric sizes.

Just got my holiday pictures back from Boots.

Spent all of my 2 week holiday in Turkey, rummaging through the back street bazaars looking for plastic washing-up bowls. :)

Found this fantastic shop in downtown Cesme, but sadly no blue 12" bowls.

They did have loads of 12 1/8" but I thought that would be too big, so did not buy any.

Thought i'd found one,

Then found an even better one for her, both are 30cm so will fit perfectly.

I think we can conclude she will be impressed.
