10w 40 gearbox oil
I just visited a web site that recommended using modern 10 w 40 engine oil in a seagull gearbox instead of 140 w oil supposedly due to modern advances in oil technology. This sounds odd considering the difference in the thickness of the oil, has any one tried this or would it be likely to damage the gearbox?
Re: 10w 40 gearbox oil
I suspect if you used oil that thin, most of it would end up on the floor.
Re: 10w 40 gearbox oil
welcome to the madness, where in australia are you from, you can get the proper penrite 140 oil from a REPCO agent, also the proper plugs
Re: 10w 40 gearbox oil
Hi Chris, Can you really get a gearbox plug from Repco? I'll need a new one soon.....What does Repco call the plugs? Do they look the same?
Re: 10w 40 gearbox oil

Re: 10w 40 gearbox oil
