Coil number for SJP/SJM?
Is the M1361 coil suitable for the SJP/SJM series motors?

Hi Phil,
You need the M1634 coil for the Mk I (Villiers) ignition.
The M1361 coil is 10mm shorter.

Thanks, Stelios and Jan! I suppose one could extend the iron core on the short core coil as there is a considerable price difference. Might get close if one made a jig to center the holes, lathe setup would likely be best but don't have one.
