Following the suggestions on this Forum regarding a means of attaching a shackle to the flywheel nut, i have has made a new stainless nut, approx 3/4 inch higher with a 6mm clearance hole bored accross it.
This allows the use of a wide shackle and a lifing strop to be fitted.
Only applies to Magneto ignition motors of course....
They come in at £7.50. contact me via the main site please.
Seems the idea is not as novel as I first thought though, as several other makes of outboard have in fact offered this as an option over the past 40 years, just never Seagull, till now!

John

Re: Modified Flywheel nuts for lifting motors
Sadly not sold one of these, despite having had them made because of the expressed interest...
So now reducing price to cost to move them £5.00 each.

Hi Adrian,
Yes I have some left, I suppose I have sold a few..
If you mail me direct to the website e-mail address, 'john@saving-old-seagulls.co.uk' I will be able to see your mail address to mail you the invoice. too many mails in to search, and your mail address is hidden on here of course!
Hows the Wolverhampton project going? Preparing for next summer I suspect!
