Ignition Engine WSPCL1284D1

Post by Defess »

Hi all good enthusiasts

I just got my first Seagull engine. A very nice one with all parts intact. As far that I can see.

There is a problem. I got no spark. I have tried the spark plug some where else and it work.
I put my ohm controller on the pointers and I can see I got connection both with open and closed pointers. I have cleaned them both. Why is that?

Remove the condenser wire and try again. (Probably Wipac so just disconnect the coil wire)

If the same then pull out the points, pull them apart and clean everything.

If only with condenser/coil connected...................duff condenser.

No one/off switch. It's basically off unless the flywheel is rotating, in which case the magneto starts to develop a spark. If no rotating then nothing happens. On much later engines a kill switch was added.
