Phil mentioned to me that he sourced some copper gauze for fuel filters and in true seagull international friendship he slipped some in an envelope and here is the result:
Tap and Gauze
Tap cleaned and tinned. Gauze curled
Curled gauze tinned on inside edge and outside join but not soldered together. Rolled and inserted into tap. Heat applied to length wise joint and sweated together. Fluxed and soldered base to tap.
Top flattened, fluxed, soldered then trimmed. Note roo leather ready for washer!
Its a little rough but with a bit more finesse should look professional!
