compression readings

Post by phil »

Can't seem to find actual compression readings suitable for 40s or centuries on a thread search. I remember reading somewhere that one could expect lower readings on the centuries than on the 40s. The ones I've checked are in the 110-120 range for the 40s, and the 50-70 psi range for the centuries. Doesn't that seem rather low on the centuries? Also the only remedies appear to be new rings and or pistons and cylinders as I recall someone saying that oversize pistons are not available, is that correct? I am assuming that the high end of the compression range should produce more power output.
