Recent Purchase Villiers Outboard
I have just got this Outboard. I believe it is an Aussie Made Sea Tang, but I could be wrong. Its approx 1960, and has a Villiers 7F engine.
Can anybody positively Identify it ?
Thanks in advance,
M

I have not been able to give these a definite "Name"..........
Every advert remotely similar..............no cigar when scrutinized as yet.
The 7F just fits too well?
I have a couple.

Notav8 can you post some better pictures very difficult to make out any details from those, both sides, front, back & top, please.
Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.

Not me Bruce, I just thought if you could see it clearly in it's full glory, this might prevent any confusion amongst the collectors of these antipodean outboards!
I was having a job to spot the similarities between yours & Notav8's!

Have a look for a Torque Major from Ballarat.
Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.
Re: Recent Purchase Villiers Outboard
The mid and lower sections are very similar to a particular Sea Tang model I have in my collection. Unfortunately I can't recall if that's Villiers powered and won't be able to get to it for at least a few weeks to view/photograph for you.
in the meantime however, here is yet another like yours for sale in Kingsley (suburb of Perth) WA. I put Boyd on to this a while back, but he didn't seem to be interested. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/kingsley ... 1123855039
At the very least, you now no that what you have is not a bitsa.
Regards,
S

BTW, I know you have a Riverside in one of your specially numbered sheds. I suggest you pull that out and compare against your new acquisition. Don't be surprised if the only significant differences you spot are;
a. the Cav plate and
b. the Riverside makers plate that sits atop the Villiers recoil starter.
Let us know what you find aye!

Thanks for all the replies.
I was having trouble uploading photos, that is why i only have two.
I do have some other Villiers outboards, so will try to get some more pics, for comparison.
Cheers,
M

With these pics which are more side on, I would like to retract what I said earlier. Definitely not Riverside.

Re: Recent Purchase Villiers Outboard
Here are a couple of others I have, and they are all different.
I do have others, but am having trouble uploading the photos.
The Red outboard is a Clipper, and the Blue and Gold one is a Villager Stingray.
Cheers,
M
