Fill the tank with water then use compressed air to push the dent out.

All my old 30's & 40's Aluminium tanks I have are very thick walled and are not going to do anything without head.
That's one job I wouldn't like to have a go at.

I mentioned to Boyd that compressed air and heat around any dent would be the way to go.

All fuel vapour removed beforehand of course.

Yes thick wall cast tanks are a bit of a problem but with care things "pop Out" aye.

A learning curve.

Yes I would only try popping the dent out of a brass or steel tank that way. I would not try it if it was Aluminium.
If it was Aluminium I would pull out my casting gear and cast a new one! :P
