Thinking outside the square again!
I wonder if this type of setup would deliver enough vapor to make this little engine run?

Ive been thinking about the vapour setup... And realised that it wont work... It would be ok for a 4 stroke but this engine is a 2 stroke. So by using a vapour setup I would end up with a fuel tank full oil and a very hot and maybe a seized engine.

I found this on the net... it looks like it could be the ticket, I just cant seem to be able to work out how to get it to fit just yet!

Took some sizes off the pic and my tank

I made a pattern with some polyester filler then cut it in half to get a profile

And from the profile pattern I drew up a cutaway view (it is to scale, the bottom choke cup is 50mm, bottom of the steel rim is 55mm)

Im not quite sure how to get the air fuel mix to the pipe that leads to the engine! Anyone got any ideas?

To my knowledge , there is no information available for these motors -

Look what I have!

It is a 15 page booklet for the mark 11

What I can not see in the in the booklet is the shape of the coil... Can some one show me a pic looking straight down on it and tell me the total thickness of all of the steel plates (I think they are about 12mm )

Ive been working the head over the past week.
I made up a pattern (not quite the same but close to what it should look like)
The pattern and home cast heads

Made a drilling fixture to hold the head for drilling the spark plug hole.

Facing

Drilling

Tapping

And fitting the plug!

Bolted to the engine

and the best part is I think it might work!!

I cant seem to get this youtube thing to work! I even looked at the tips and tricks!!!

I only gave the engine a quick squirt of CRC 5-56 just to see what it would do!

And the cowl fixing knurled nut (not sure if it is quite right but it will do for now)

Now I need to try and work out how the mixer all fits under that little choke cap.

Collector Inspector: Could I please ask for a for a few close up pics of the choke cup and the steel base part of the mixer? Is that a screw in the side of the base or a pin?

Great workmanship. It's a credit to you.

I recently received a file of old Anzani adverts and articles and I'm sure there are a couple in thee that relate to the Minor. Give me a week or so to drag them out and copy for you.

Once they're ready to post, I'll send you a pm for postal details etc.

In the meantime, keep up the great work. I would love to have the machinery, knowledge and expertise to do that kind of stuff.

I've asked all the collectors that I know in here the UK, to see if any had a "black label" minor, sorry nothing, Bruce seems to have the only other one, you will have to get all the details you require from him.

Haven't had a chance to dig out/copy that info yet. It will happen though, you can bank on that.

Watched your latest clip. It's great to see the little thing running albeit not as smoothly as it may have done back in the day. That said, my gut is telling me you're not quite finished yet.

Keep plugging away. You may become the one and only supplier of Anzani Minor parts if you're not careful.

In the last video I had it running with too much oil in the fuel, and with a carb that had a float that would not shut off. Along with all that it only had 5 ml of fuel in a short piece of pipe.

As far as making parts for the Anzani minor's.... it's possibility.

Mocked up a red neck carbie out of some plumbing bits and a piece of aluminium. ... looks as rough as it can get but it seemed to work ok.
This is what it was based off with the addition of a "foot" valve.

The mock up

And all it's bits. The ball bearing sits in the bottom of the fuel pickup tube to stop the fuel from falling back into the tank. ( the pickup tube is a bit on the long side )

How it sat in the tank.

I couldn't get a video of it running because it was late when I tried it but I will see what I can do.

Now I need to see how I can squash it all under the choke cup. It is not far off but it will tight!

I will make up a pattern and cast the body in either aluminium or brass.

It seems to run OK but I need to fit the ignition timing handle to make it easier to adjust. The only problem is I don't know how it fits to the mag base, or for that matter what it looks like.

Could I please get a photo of the timing handle and how it is fixed to the mag base?

Could I also get some better / close up pictures of the mixer please collector Inspector
