There is a product called deep creep and it is much better than wd40 try to get some it may do the trick . Maybe john at S O S should try to buy this in bulk but he should try some first and see if it makes a difference it did on my model A head light adjusting nut witch is an acorn nut inverted so it holds water and rusts really good and I thought I would need a new head light but this worked . I am in no way affiliated with this product just a happy user good luck hope this helps !!! VIC

The water just covers the water pump housing. No propeler on the gearbox.

tick-over did seem a little fast. Old motorbikes fire once every lamp post .. not sure what the term is for seagulls . How ever a job well done with a few odd fixes but at least it's another one running. well done . Why not get the correct transfer for the fuel tank. You will enjoy the SD .. They are a joy to work on.

polish it on a bench grinder/polisher?

I applied polish cream on the tank and then with a diy dremel tool I start polishing. The diy tool was a rod with a round piece of cork on top. After that with a towel and polishing cream again continue until the end.

that one sounds right but you still need a tank transfer.
On bikes , I was thinking more of a Matchless or an AJS . We have two in the glen that only come out on dry days.
You can still hear them when they have crested the top of the hill and thats 1 1/2 miles away.

Niander I do feel that an FS1E would be more in keeping with the world of seagull.

Small under powered, noisy, forgotten about but now collectable.

Takes me back to my school days, high revving Jap crap.



There is even an owners club and a forum, now that is a motorbike.
