Curlew on Ebay

I've just watched a Curlew sell on Ebay for £155 it looked super clean, maybe a tart up for the bay.

But even so they are a super little motor with more power than a Century, better fuel economy than anything else Seagull ever made, & quiet as well, they also didn't make heaps of them, I would have hought these facts made them a desireable item but not according to what they reach on the bay.

I've watched ordinary 102's & Centurys fetch more than that, somebody please explain the logic behind this.

OK I admit they might need a little more TLC to keep them in perfect condition, but for something they only made a few hundred of?

Owners who use them, would not be parted from them, & often own several as they're cheap.

Would whoever "stole" that one off the bay today, please if they read this, let us know their views & impressions.

Less well known than say, a Century?

And of course, lots of negative press in the latter days at Seagull...

What negative press? I've never seen any, mind you, you've read a lot more on the press side. I can't inagine much escapes you.

Haven't you got one? what do you think?

Not written stuff, but all the locals can remember is that they were awfully expensive.

No I haven't got one, I keep on saying I will purchase no more. Sadly I have the same disease as so many on this forum. Thank heavens I never tried heroin, I obviously have an addictive streak in me. CPW reckons I was addicted to Ringwood best Bitter, but of course she doesn't know the difference between 'addiction' and 'manfully fighting off a potential hops deficiency'

Not that expensive, in Feb 1993 these were the prices inc VAT.

40+ £452.38
Curlew £528.75
Kingfisher £793.12

Twice the power of a 40+ & a clutch for an extra £76.37.

Isn't that what's called a "no brainer"
