Vendor is also sticking to the claim that it really is made of brass ...... So were there really brass versions of the steel tank types? Does seem strange. Not seen any turn up before....

John & I were discussing this a couple of weeks ago both of us had only seen one each, the one I had was very battered, much thinner gauge brass than the oval tank, therefore more fragile.
But I have an image in my memory that it had more stiffening ribs than this one.
This one does have a much smaller seam/join around the middle, than the new steel one I have upstairs, still in it's box but with paint missing where it's been damaged in storage.
Charles is right the text part of the transfer is facing the wrong way, but the sailorman is right.
If anyone has the hots for one, contact me, as I'm sure I'll never use mine.

Silly me - just didn't read the word 'brass'

I still don't think British SWeagull would have bothered - they would have reached over to the shelf and got a new tank out!
